Issues with importing an old wordpress mysql database to a new one
Question:
I imported my old wordpress mysql database to a new database in my hosting account, then deleted the old one. The site’s showing up ok, as of now. So i’m wondering if I missed any step during the importation that might pose as a problem in the future. Did I do right?

Assuming your host is the same, your site/domain is the same, and the structure didn’t change, everything should be fine.
The WordPress database is very stable and easy to move, even from site to site. Like the other answer says, as long as your site is working, you’re probably going to be just fine.
Hi there,
If it is working ok you should be alright. I would recommend keeping hold of backups for a while until you are absolutely sure.
Unfortunately, we can’t tell if you have done it right from a question.
If it is working ok, then let’s assume you have. If any problems come up, then you can fix them when they do … but it’s only an if.
All the best

I would suggest making sure both installs are running the same version of WordPress. Always do your updates. WordPress clearly alerts you when a new version is available. Same thing with plugins. Also, some plugins use tables so keep that in mind. They’ll need to be included in the migration.
