How to open the file named index.html using wordpress?
Q: i was trying to build a website this is the instruction where i got stocked “Now for the minor modifications to the html files. Use Wordpad or similar program to open the file named index.html. Use the search function to search for MODIFICATION POINT – after locating them, there will be instructions below it on what to modify. This will be the same for the other two files – WXWXVYNMQBackOffice_area.html and WXWXVYNMQBackOffice_area.html. If you find it and there’s no instructions below it, that means that you’ve found it as part of this instruction.”
A: What planet are you from? The instructions say “Use Wordpad”, not WordPress. WordPress is a blogging platform, not a file editor. You need a text editor to edit the index.html file. That’s what the instructions meant when they said, “…or similar program to open the file…”.
WARNING – WARNING – WARNING
However, WordPad is NOT a text editor. It’s a mini version of Word and that’s not a text editor, either. The instructions should have said NotePad, NOT WordPad. If you use WordPad, you’ll screw up the file because it added hidden formatting to it. The index.html file needs to be straight ascii text.

WordPress is not a text editor nor html editor. You need to use a *text* editor like notepad. Do not use wordpad.
You simply right click and choose open with — Notepad.
