Changing URLs Of Posts/Pages On WordPress
Hi
I would like to change some post and page urls on my wordpress blog now that I have learned some stuff about seo.
My old urls are too long and include the full post title so I want to shorten the url but leave the post/page title intact.
If I do this will I lose the back links I have built up to the old url or is there an automatic redirect(I have read this on the net but want to be sure).
And if my old page/post had some page rank, will this transfer to my new url if I change?

Here is what I use. A plugin called Dean’s Permalinks Migration http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/permalinks-migration-plugin-for-wordpress/
1) Backup your database.
2) Install and activate the plugin.
3) Go to Settings, Permalinks and change your permalinks structure to the way you want it.
That’s it. Your visitors won’t get 404 error pages and you won’t lose any pagerank.
